A quick trip outside produced these images....

Our split-leaf philodendron -- we call this plant "The Elephant." One year it froze down to only one leaf -- then it came back. We have to cut 1/3 to 1/2 half of it out every year or we would not be able to walk around the corner of the house.

Our hisbicus in bloom -- this, of course, is a hibiscus -- a tropical or semi-tropical plant. It will not like the hard freeze that we are having tonight. It may get a blanket!

"Sassy" My car in the snow!

One year my dad was doing training in El Paso and it snowed...about an inch...and the schools closed and everything ground to a halt. Funny thing was, it was all melted and gone in about 2 hours but since lots of folks didn't know how to drive in it, they closed things down. We laughed as to us it was a joke...since we drove in inches of snow "back home". Enjoy the prettiness of it, Anita!
We did get a hard freeze -- don't know if I lost anything -- my Fire Bush is looking very frozen on the outside but I think when it is pruned it will look much better. It is still alive. The Azeleas look fine -- they hug the wall and stay warmer. Next week the temp will get up to 76 (F) -- such is life on the gulf coast.
