Yesterday was the day! My husband made it official -- he gave notice at work that he is retiring at the end of March. The news was received much as we thought it would be -- they don't want him to go but.... they understand. Oh, my, what a change this will make in our lives! Just 9 weeks from today! Any of you "retired" people want to offer us any suggestions?

My hubby retired when his position was eliminated (after 26 years)...and that was more than 6 years ago. He has had NO trouble "taking his time" around the house. When that happened, we knew we'd have to relocate to a place that was more "retirement friendly" (economically). It meant I had to leave my job, which I loved and would have done yet for at least a few more years. I do have a part-time job as I could not just "sit around the house"....but hubby is doing just fine with that!!!

Hi Anita, it sounds all so good to have the man always around the house. My Hubby has tender his about 2 months, and he has 2 more days now to free himself from his routine life... He has lots in his mine, all about his hobby which now cluttered around our little compound.. I think he will be busier than doing his office works..... :)
