The end of our third day on Iron Mountain. Sweetie did some volunteer work today -- Gracie and I went to town to buy Sweetie a birthday card. I also stopped and looked at an estate sale -- didn't find anything I needed. We had chicken and dumplings for our dinner -- haven't had those in a couple of years -- they were good. Before dinner I took a walk -- need the exercise.
I love the trees that turn red in the fall -- they are beautiful!

Dumplings with stew are good!
How are your dumplings made?

The fall colors are just beautiful. I haven't had dumplings in ages either and don't think I've ever made them. Sounds good!!

Wendy says ours are made from 2 parts flour to 1 part suet mixed with water, rolled into balls and dropped on the top of the stew for the last half hour of cooking.
Comfort food for this time of year!
Autumn.

I've just noticed that last comment I made is timed at 4:19 am.
It's 10:20am here. The sun is shining and I'm just going to give our new porch a coat of paint!
