Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated! I have been busy running around looking for the long leisurely days of retirement. Can't find them anywhere!
We have been having rain, rain, rain. I am not complaining -- I learned early-on that I won't melt! Still, while my yard is just ponding on one side now (the rest has drained off) north of us there are people water skiing down their neighborhood streets! Several creeks have come out of their banks and people/animals are having to evacuate. Feast or famine.
I did manage to get some sewing done so I thought I'l send a picture of the baby quilt that was made for my friend's new granddaughter.
Because the new parents were married in Holland, Michigan, I used the pinwheel block to represent "windmills." I also used some tulips in the quilting pattern. There is one tulip barely visable just above the yellow windmill, mid-right hand side.
Have been wondering what all you guys are doing -- anyone having fun?

We would love to send you some -- we have had plenty to share. Was pouring rain when church let out this morning -- the church has several large umbrellas and we used them to walk people to their cars. I walked a mother and baby to keep them dry -- baby was very interested in watching me!
We've plenty of rain here as well. Something to do with the jetstream they tell us!
The weather has been wet, cold and windy for months and has affected our flower and vegetable growers so much that we've had to cancel our annual Flower and Vegetable Show this Saturday......
Doug, so sorry your Flower and Vegetable Show was cancelled -- I know how much you look forward to that every year.
It is still hot here and about this time every year I get tired of the heat. I want to sit outside and listen to the birds (and not provide lunch for the mosquitos) but it is a little too warm for that now. We did put up a new pergola this weekend -- I am hoping it will make our little patio more usable.
