It Came!
I went to the mailbox and there was a small brown package from Iowa. My fat quarter had arrived.
A while back I was looking at some fabric/quilting web sites and ran across B & B Creations, Tracy, Iowa. There was a "moose" hidden somewhere on the site and, ta-dah, I found it! Fay Boyd send me my prize, a beautiful fat quarter. What a fun way to go "window shopping." Thank you!

how fun! congratulations!
A fat quarter is a piece of fabric cut 18 x 22 inches. A half yard would be 18 x 44 inches (assuming that the piece of fabric if 44 inches wide) and that 1/2 yard piece could be cut two ways -- either 9 x 44 inches or 18 x 22 inches. The 9 x 44 inch piece is long and narrow and not always usable. The 18 x 22 inch piece is much more usable and is called a "Fat Quarter." Fat quarters are most often used by quilters and if you don't quilt, you wouldn't know what one was.
