some news
I shopped at Walmart today -- needed several things plus an outing. Our closest store is still undergoing the remodeling that spelled the end to their fabric department. I was happy to see, however, that they now have fat quarters and some jelly roll type thingies. I guess that is better than no fabric at all!

our walmart has remodeled too,...still has some fabrics but sadly for me, no embroidery floss at all....sadness
Many of us tried a letter-writing and phone-call campaign...even pointed out that we buy fabric there to use in charity quilts that are used at accident scenes and also ones to go to terminally ill kids, but....Walmart didn't care. Not sur if it's true, but I heard the founder's daughter was for keeping fabric but that she has a couple of brothers who also call the shots and she was outvoted. Our store is very depleted in many departments but they have really wide aisles now....big deal. *sigh*
