This weekend we had it all planned -- Sweetie was going to leave Friday morning for a 3-day motorcycle event. I was going to sew.
Friday I did some errands but started sewing Sat morning. Around 3 pm got a call -- Sweetie was on his way to hospital. Sick. News trickled in -- it was the heat. He was brought home, after 5 hours in the ER an hour's drive west of here, by some friends who went above and beyond. I could not focus on sewing, of course, so my weekend of sewing ended up being just a couple of hours -- after that I was walking the floor!
Heat exhaustion can kill you -- fortunately, he realized the extent of his problem early on and asked to be taken to the hospital. Once he started throwing up (a symptom) he had no chance of re-hydrating himself. His body temp stayed high even when he was standing in a cold shower.
Praise God, he is home and doing much better!! The quilt can be made another day.

I'm glad he is doing well now. Oh....I like the black and white quilt, too.

so glad he's ok...this heat can be rough..its a hot one today too....drink lots of water!
